Loved it!
I have been waiting for what seems like forever for this book to arrive on my doormat! All I can say is that I wasn't disappointed and the wait was well worth it!
It was wonderful to have a heroine I could identify with, we're similar ages and she too had had children and knew what it was to work a soul destroying job! I enjoyed Keely's story unfolding and her enviable relationship with the gorgeous Regan was stuff that dreams are made of - yes I was jealous but still wanted it to work out for her!
The character Rob really stirred things up and I wasn't sure what would happen there for a while (sorry, being cryptic as I don't want to include any spoilers for those who haven't read it - and if you haven't, why not?! Go buy a copy now!) Suffice to say I'm interested in the way his story and relationships develop too!
Add to this a beautiful setting, an evil baddie and a new set of worlds in which anything can happen and you have one enthralling read!
I cannot wait to read Thistle Lodge and see how this story unfolds, it is just extremely unfair that I now have to wait another year (but I am sure that it will, once again, be worth it!) by Loulou -
Couldn't put this down!
Once I started reading this paperback I couldn't put it down! Not at all like Twilight as some have compared it to so if you are expecting vampires you will be disappointed! The author has clearly researched her Irish mythology (the Legend of the Sidhe) and Irish culture and the story cleverly wonders between the past and the present. As there is no bad language or sex it is a book you could buy as a present for anyone but probably young adults with imagination would enjoy it most. Can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy "Thistle Lodge" to see who wins the ensuing battle within the Sidhe tribes. Hopefully this trilogy will one day be on screen too! by Emeline

it sucked
This book felt like a replication of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga but set in a different context through the events that took place and the characters themselves. Unfortunatly I wouldn't recommend you read this unless you're a huge Twilight fan which I'm not and even then you may feel it's a bad rip off. Unfortunatly I wouldn't recommend you read this unless you're a huge Twilight fan which I'm not and even then you may feel it's a bad rip off. The descriptions of the scenery and the characters themselves are not described enough compared to Meyer who described too much. We feel no empathy or any emotion for the characters because they are 2 dimensional and not well thought out. Throughtout the novel I wanted to strangle the characters because of their idiotic actions and robotic dialogue. Only 3 characters (Mab, Rob and Alania) managed to portray hints of personality that contained any inklings of weaknesses or strengths. The novel was poorly portrayed and unoriginal; she failed to take the appropriate amount of time to write and plan the book which was evident in 'Bluebell Cottage'. A great idea from a literature hopeful was squashed by the inspiration from a terrible author who has gained a fame she doesn't rightly deserve. This novel certainly made me feel 'Chagrined'!! by Joanne
