  • The moose, or 'elk' in Europe, is generally found in the temperate to subarctic forests of the Northern Hemisphere. In North America, that includes almost all of Canada, most of central and western Alaska, much of New England, the upper Rocky Mountains, Northeastern Minnesota, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Isle Royale in Lake Superior.
