Atmospheric, character driven werewolf wonder - leap in!
I truly cannot find much to criticise in this novel, and so I'm not inclined to nitpick for the sake of it. On all counts this novel hits the spot. Character, pacing, plot, prose, impact - all are handled deftly to my mind. It even scores some points for originality, as the werewolves, and the explanation around them are not what I expected. The Leaping is for me a contender for best debut of the year so far, and I'm really looking forward to Fletcher's next book.
In summary, The Leaping is an insightful, moody and truly engaging novel. Just when you think you cannot bare the tension anymore, it cranks it up another notch before finally unleashing a blood soaked torrent of visceral horror. Werewolves have never been this captivating. Highly recommended! by Jason Baki
