    jennift I have not come across a good book in a long time. Was a little skeptical about getting a genre in crime as they usually have a rather disappointing end and written rather carelessly.

    However, this book is very well-written, with some very interesting characters and good twists and surprises. I felt that Larsson have put much thought into the details. Though, I do find some parts a little graphic, i.e in relation to sex and violence.

    A little slow at first but I can hardly stop turning the pages in some chapters. Personally, I would say this book is better than a lot of other crime fiction I have read. by jennift

    Andi Crime isn't always my preferred genre however this novel really made me rethink that.

    For some it might be hard to get in to however once a few chapters in you won't regret that you kept reading. It was very suspenseful, clever and gripping - essential elements for a good crime novel. Overall I'm very glad I read it and can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. by Andi

    Michelle This book is an amazing read! I started reading this book while on a bus tour ... and sometimes, I felt like saying, "Don't stop the bus now! Blomkvist is sooooo close ...!"
    The writing is taut and characters totally believable. Larsson's almost journalist approach to this novel hooks you from the opening pages and keeps you on the edge of your seat right up to the end. Some of it is graphic - much like a description of a crime scene - but only makes you feel for and empathise with the characters more.
    I'm not usually one to read detective fiction but I've made an exception here - and for the other two books in the Millennium series. by Michelle

    R.D-Diaz You probably noticed this book topping the book charts of mostly all the bookshop you can find. I was reluctant to get it and start reading for it- AGAIN belongs in a series. I'm not usually a a fan of crime fiction but since it was highly recommended by a friend of mine I decided to give it a try and guess what?... it got me HOOKED!

    The First book of the Millenium Series is a brilliant read, the storyline of the book is little slow at first but it quickly picked up and revealed itself to be a worthy and amazing read. The characters are with powerful descriptions. The heroin of the book is unusually an unlikable, sociopath and reserved and may be repulsive character to some but she's a highly talented hacker,with a photographic memory that makes her an ass kick brilliant in her job which is as a researcher.

    The book tackled issues about violence against women, incest, rape, murder at the same time the author addressed many themes in his novel, self-sacrifice , love and redemption, good always prevail and luck versus chance and fate. by R.D-Diaz

    sian cater This book was one of the best books i have ever read, only to be Superseded by the two to follow, yes it is a bit graphic, but it is well worth a read. LOVED IT. by sian cater

    Catherine Spence but certainly enough to put you off northern Europe where the men seem to be almost universally bigoted thugs who regard women as chattel.
    - and the food is clearly appalling.
    Sorry there is not more by Catherine Spence

  • Excellent, bit too graphic5

    Patricia O'Connor This book is an excellent read; the story and characters are interesting, it's fast-paced with some unexpected twists. The book is a translation from Swedish to English, unlike the second two books in the trilogy the translation is a little wooden but I found this quite charming. The book is unnecessarily graphic in places, Larsson is a great story-teller so did not need to detail the violence in such detail to get the message across, he toned this down considerably in the second and third books.

    Overall I really enjoyed this book, on finishing it I immediately rushed out to buy the second and third books (The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest), reading those in a matter of days. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Crime Novels focusing on conspiracies, or general Thrillers. by Patricia O'Connor
