Poor
Really didn't enjoy this one. Walter dwells for too long on the (really rather small) culture of stripping, glamor models and middle class prostitution and grossly exaggerates its prevalence. She then moves on to talking about the trend for giving biological explanations for gender. This is interesting but for one chapter, not the entire second half of the book. The book reads as rambling and poorly organized, spending ages on single topics that are inflammatory but really not important while barely touching on bigger issues. She doesn't deal with LBT issues at all which is a glaring omission, as it is both at the forefront of rejecting gender roles and most pressured by the increasing drive towards old-fashioned expectations for people to play into the pinkified and divided culture we live in. by Elaine O'Connor
