Need (Paperback)
Short Description for NeedZara collects phobias the way other high school girls collect Facebook friends. It's little wonder, since she's had a fairly rough life. Her father left when she was a baby, her stepfather just died and her mother's almost given up - in fact, she's sent her to live with her grandmother in cold and sleepy Maine to 'keep Zara safe'.

Happily Surprised!
I found this book on here accidentally, thought it sounded interesting, ordered it thinking it should be alright... and i LOVED IT!
At first i was thought 'evil pixies?' ... but now i think 'evil pixies!'
I have already ordered the next one and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. by Cassandra Everett -
Waste of time.
I'm sad to say I really got no enjoyment out of this book. I read it on a recommendation of a friend and was seriously disapointed. It seems the hype following the Twilight commotion has made it acceptable (and increasingly more common) to write poor, teenage romance books with little to no plot, and still somehow have them become famous.
I found it annoying that relationships happened in a matter of days, and the characters seemed to have no problem making out despite knowing barely anything about each other. It came across to me as condecendingly simplistic, and had little to no continuity - 'facts' that were not expanded upon in one scene and yet the character can explain it in detail the next scene.
Also, pixies? I hardly think you'll find something sinister or 'factual' is you type that into google. I don't mind stretching my imagination for a good book, but this was stupidly unrealistic.
One of the worst books I've read this year. by Jasmin -
An Illustrators Point of View On NEED
NEED is a fantastic read. The cover itself Entices you in and very cleverly links into the book as does the title. Once i started reading i was hooked. The steady pace of NEED was exactly right, becoming faster when the story required. The idea of bad pixies is also original and fun as well as including weres of all different shapes, and sizes. This shows that Carrie Jones has guts and is not afraid to take risks which is what makes a brilliant author. It also adds to the magic of this book. The only bad thing about NEED is certain aspects were predictable However these aspects were balenced out with total surprise and suspense especially towards the end of the story. Overall i couldnt put this book down. I was continuously surprised throughout and I'm looking foreward to reading the next book in the series Captivate =) by Emmi

Absolutely amazing
I started reading this book about 3 pm yesturday and havent put it down. I read it late in to the night and the minute i woke up i carried on. The book is just amazing.
The author i could not praise anymore i will deffinetly be buying the next book in the series.
The cross between a supernatural idea and also a romance makes you just need to read on and see what happens.
I highly reccomend this book.
On the back it says
'if you grabbed Stephen king and Stephanie Meyer and asked them to co-author a book,, they would absolutely come up with something really close to 'need'' - justine magazine
i couldnt agree more! by Emma Whatmough
