Colin Brown This book is simply awful, it asserts opinions as if they are facts. For example that alcoholism is a disease, a point on which there is no consensus within the world of recovery.

Additionally it offers suggestions that an average person in recovery may struggle to achieve and therefore be demoralised, for example 90 meetings in the first 90 days. Even AA, where this misnomer originated, has put on its own website that attending 90 meetings in 90 days is not it's official position and the person in recovery should simply do the amount that suits them best.

Would suggest "Empowering Your Sober Self" by Martin Nicolaus as a properly researched alternative. by Colin Brown
