An excellent, easy-to-understand guide to digital photography
This is a terrific book. Very easy to understand with clear step-by-step instructions for getting the best out of your digital camera. Thoroughly recommended, even for those who have owned a digital camera for some time.
I found the example photos particularly useful - they show you exactly what to expect in different situations and help you to understand when you're going wrong. by Ian Duffy -
Wow!
Clarity...............achieved with style. This beautifully designed pocket guide is so easy to understand, even I can use it!
I bought this for my wife. She hated endlessly deleting pictures and missing those special moments. Once she started using it we both saw the superior quality of our photo's. I got interested and we now compete for the next amazing picture of our daughter in action.
Its made digital photography more fun and less frustration. Brilliant. by Rob Griffin -

I was advised to buy this book by a good friend as he kept on telling me my photos were pretty naff.
The thing is there are plenty of books on the market that purport to tell you how to take great snaps. In my experience none of them do everything. This book is different. The reasons:-
1. In simple, concise language it explains what all the controls on your camera do.
2. It tells you how to prepare before taking your photo (which I've now realised is just as important as taking the photo).
3. It tells you how to take the snap and how to use the camera.
The result. An interesting, quick read containing as much information which will improve you as a photographer without making you bored. There is no jargon and the layout is great if you need to go back and refresh your memory.
If you own a digital camera and you want to learn or improve your photography just buy this book. You really won't need any others. Superb. by Mike Greenstein -

Ideal for anyone who wants to get more from their digital camera.
I have been looking for a book like this for a long time. Most of the books I have seen are either too focused on 'proper' cameras or are too specific to a make or model of camera. What impressed me most about this book is just how comprehensive it is despite it's small size. It does a good job of covering both the technical stuff, showing you what all the settings do but also useful and well illustrated tips on how to use them. It also provides loads of really useful general tips on how to get better pictures in all the common situation you might find yourself in. I will definitely be taking this book on holiday with me this summer. Highly recommended. by John Blythe
