A compelling narrative
It is an enjoyable book and there are enough mysteries that at times take on the aspect of the supernatural. Easy reading, swiftly paced and entertaining, it brilliantly mingles romance and intrigue and you are so captured by the story that you reach the end in an incredible speed. by Sonia Mengoni

A wonderful voyage..
Let Zafon take you to a magical place: the cemetary of forgotten books. The main character, Daniel, is an intelligent little boy - yet he is very human, he has his faults and makes mistakes just like the rest of us.
The story takes place in a dark and gloomy Barcelona, before Franco came to power and before the Ramblas were overwhelmed with tourists. Come visit Tibidabo, follow Daniel into the bar Els Quattre Gats (which still exists, Picasso used to be a regular client there) and explore the labyrinth of Horta. Barcelona is a wonderfull city, and while reading the story you can almost smell the city's salty breeze...
A must read for fans of good literature, I was so intrigued it took me only a week to finish the book! by Anke Joosens
