Reviews for Sister

  • Engaging to the end!4

Maggie Swithenbank I liked "Sister"--it was suspenseful and beautifully written. I thought it was similar to "We Need to Talk About Kevin" and "Before I Go to Sleep" in the way it was written and how it held your attention to the very last page. Keen to Lupton's "Afterwards" now... by Maggie Swithenbank

  • enjoyable4

mona abed algani It's a good read, enjoyable and keeps you guessing, even though I lost interest in some parts for a few moments, facts seem to be overly detailed in parts of the book which in my opinion affected the tight structure and the flow. Overall well written and recommended by mona abed algani

Leonie Hemelaar I really liked it even though it took me a fair while to actually finish it by Leonie Hemelaar

  • An OK read3

Wendy SEKULOFF I bought this book because it seemed everyone was giving it rave reviews. HOWEVER, I have read better crime fiction. by Wendy SEKULOFF

  • Good book but4

Laura Wilson This was great for the first 3/4!
However, I found the ending a bit incredulous and unrealistic- in saying that, the good bits made up for the bad! by Laura Wilson

  • Good start but disappointing end4

Michelle D I enjoyed the first part of this book; sharing in Beatrice's trauma and search for truth...couldn't put it down for half the day! However the story style gets draggy and I felt that the twist to the ending became incredulous did not quite gel with the initial storyline. by Michelle D

  • Three and a half stars actually4

Alina Solomkina At the start, I could not put this book down. It is very easy to read and was moving along at a very good pace. The relationship between the sisters is so touching, so beautiful, I was close to tears from the very first page. However, once I got past a two thirds mark, the story started to drag on and I began to lose interest. The twist at the end spoilt the whole book for me, however I didn't mind the end itself. Overall, a pretty good book and I have recommended it to several people. by Alina Solomkina

  • Sisterly Love4

Mrs Gaye Allison I enjoyed this novel. The ending was unusual but made sense of many of the things mentioned throughout the story. The growth in the main character as she abandons her shallow and not happy life in her quest for the truth of what happened to her sister gives depth to the novel also. Not for everyone but worth a read for lovers of psychological dramas. by Mrs Gaye Allison
