Morganville Vampires rule!
Ok, I?ll start this review by saying that I LOVE this series! Seriously, what?s not to love about it? The characters are great, there?s always a new adventure, and danger around every corner! These books are really hard to put down! After reading the 6th book, Carpe Corpus, I thought it felt a little bit like the ending in the series, probably because all the previous books had killer cliffhangers, and Carpe Corpus ended with all the plot lines being tied up. So, I thought what can Rachel Caine give us next? Enter Fade Out. While I don?t think it?s the best book in the series (Carpe Corpus wins that prize in my opinion, at least so far), it certainly didn?t disappoint. I think it didn?t have as much action as the previous books, but that didn?t take anything away from the plot, as the quality was still intact.
It was definitely good reading that Claire, Michael (*Swoon*), Shane (*SWOON*), and Eve were for once almost living a normal life. I mean come on! Let them breathe for a while! But of course Morganville always brings them something new to deal with. In this book, we?re introduced to Kim, who is Eve?s new friend. I instantly hated her and so did Claire, since Kim had some unfinished business with Shane. Seriously every time the girl opened her mouth I just wanted to punch her, or at least expecting Claire to do it for me! In this book we also see Ada?s dangerous side, as she?s jealous of the relationship between Claire and Myrnin (I love him, the dude has bunny slippers with fangs!), but I guess she simply isn?t used to seeing another girl with him. Probably because everybody stays away from him, since the guy is a little bit crazy (ok, he?s totally crazy).
The relationship between Eve and Michael is also tested when Michael is torn between making choices his friends want him to make or the choices which will affect the vampires? safety. The ending was full of big changes, so I cannot wait to read Kiss Of Death! I really want to see how much has really changed in Morganville. Overall, I?d like (love) it if the series never had to end.(= by Anabela A M Nunes
