A fascinating book
Thanks to William Dalrymple who had Empires of The Indus on his bibliography (from Nine Lives), I have read a most interesting, informative and, yes, fascinating travel book. Difficult to put down so engrossed was I with everything in it, telling me all I wanted to know
and more: geography, people, history of the area, religions, plus the author's reactions and emotions, the people encountered on the way...
The ending, which I had, in a way, suspected and dreaded, left me despondant, close to tears.
A great achievement. Can't wait for Alice Albinia's next book! by michelle moody
