  • Enter the fascinating world of the Grey4

Rebs R It's always great when I take a chance reading a new author and get more out of it than expected. I loved Greywalker. Granted, some of the story was way way over my head. I couldn't wrap my head around some of the mythology and I had a hard time picturing what the world of "Grey" looked like, but from what I did understand I enjoyed. Harper is a strong woman, self reliant and independent. She is a PI that had a case turn bad and ended up with her being dead for a few minutes. Ever since then her cases turn out to be something from the "Grey", which is another way of saying something supernatural. She gets in the middle of a vampire tiff as well as a malevolent ghost looking for a powerful object. I loved being taken along Harper's journey, she didn't just accept the Grey right on. It took her a while to fully believe that this other world existed all around her and for her to figure out what she could do in it. She's got a lot more to learn I think and I look forward to finding out what's next for Harper in book 2.

Would recommend to any urban fantasy fan especially fans of Jenna Black's Dark Descendant.

  • Not sure I liked it or not?2

Cindy Bacon Harper Blaine is working as a PI and gets beat up nastily and dies in the very first pages. Brought back to life by efficient cares she now feels dizzy and sees weird things. Doctor at the emergency suggest she should meet with some friends of his.

After meeting with them, Harper is struggling to make her mind around what she'd learn. There is some kind of alternate world wear ghosts, vampires and such lives. She now as acces to that world!

Some very weird clients now shows up at her office and she is being dragged further down The Grey drain.

Honestly after reading it I'm not quite sure how I feel about the book. The story isn't bad, the action is fine, some interesting character but something doesn't feel right. I can't say I don't like it, nor that I liked it. I can't quite pinpoint what's bothering me.One thing is for sure though, Blaine is suppose to be some kind of strong woman but she just rings weak to me. The girl is smart and gets out of nasty situation but she's kind of whiny.I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm gonna read the following books. by Cindy Bacon
