One of the most amazing books you will read
This book is an amazing tale, containing every element of intrigue and adversity you could ever wish for. One man's battle to fulfill a promise battling adversity and ignorance with sheer determination. Political and cultural intriguew abounds as Greg Mortensen sets about his mission to build a school in a foreign country, all of which is overcome in a way that makes it seem that Greg is a chatacter in an action movie who survives due to sequel power alone.
Except this book, is real! by Nathanael Lampe -
One man's mission to promote peace..... One book at a time
Have you ever wondered how else a war could be fought, other than with bombs, guns & grenades? This book, 'Three Cups of Tea' helps readers understand how hatred & death needn't be key ingredients to winning a war - that in fact, education, and the freedom it brings can be far greater spoils. If, like me, you've seen countless items on the news about the 'terror' in Afghanistan, or the threat that Pakistan presents to the western world & thought "well, what else can we do other than go in & fight?" I would encourage you to read this book. It easily navigates the history of the conflict between these countries & the western world & deftly explores how the 'simple' exercise of establishing schools can be more effective in changing this than anything else. It's tagline on the front cover is 'one man's mission to promote peace one school at a time". I think it should read "....one book at a time". Do yourself a favor - get this book. It will change the way you see the world. by Siska Frederick

An inspiring read
This is a must read book, Greg Mortenson is an inspiration and shows how the west is going wrong in connecting with Islamic people and how the money spent on arms and troops could be spent far more effectively to the benefit of us all. An amazing book about an an incredible man.
