Reviews for Postwar
LONG BUT WORTH IT, IN PARTS
Very well researched book and walked away with a a lot of new found knowledge on an area previously studied, However the narrative often felt long winded in parts (eg EEC and EU policies and creation) and then too brisk in others, personally felt book lingered too much on cultural changes such as art, architecture and classical music rather than actual historical events at times (such as the massive political changes in the former Eastern Bloc in the late 80's) and football a major institution in European Culture given scant regard. Language could be at times complex bordering on verbose with very small print, perhaps should have been stretched out to 1500 pages. Despite this still feel that book provides a perfect foundation for study of the Post War period by Caroline Curry
