  • I love shoes and still am...5

    Nurul Muen I love shoes. Although I can?t afford Jimmy Choo and Prada, I still love shoes. Often, when I can?t decide between 2 pair of shoes, I just bought both. Problems solved. Ok, I mean, the decision making problem is solved, but not my credit card bills.

    Reading this book, make me feel normal. I am not the only one on earth who has addiction and credit cards problem. Lorna Rafferty is dealing with the same issues. I am glad Beth put her character in the first chapter, because I can relate with her really. Especially the ignorance part, we both don?t bother to open the bills and always ?believe? everything was settled on time. Hehe, I like her thinking. And I praised her for the ?Shoe Addicts Anonymous? because whatever that was about to fall apart, was eventually saved and friendship began in the most awkward way.

    Helene Zaharis was trapped in an unhappy marriage. She doesnt want to have a child just so that her politician husband can show-off his one big happy family in his campaign. Her only happiness is to get to shop for free until her husband cut off her allowance. I see Helene as one pretty lady who is trapped in her life and escape all this unhappiness by focusing on shopping for shoes, something that she really love. When life get tough, she is bold enough to stand for herself . I like her for her dignity and the strength that she put to face all this. Helene Zaharis, you?re my inspiration and I will do whatever it takes to face mine too. I am so inspired by you , thanks Beth for creating Helene Zaharis.

    Sandra, I love the part where she colored her hair green. It was unintentional but it brought many good things to her from that points onward. What I learn from Sandra is, you need to get out of that comfort zone, and ?just do it?.

    Finally Joss, poor nanny who is so naive. She made a smart move to join the 3 ladies above on ?Shoe Addicts Anonymous? meeting although her shoe is of different size and she is not an addict at all (in the beginning until later part?.) It is important to have great friends because they will be a gerat help and of course, a great company. Ohh, and she got a pair of shoes named after her, ?Jocelyn?? lovely huh?

    My favourite chapter(s) ? Chapter 1 .. seriously, hahaha and ok Chapter 19, where my heart fell for Helene.

    My favorite line ? ?God, if I were listening to this story, I?d be asking why the hell this dumb woman hadn?t left ages ago instead of suffering the stress of living a lie for so long? ?And the answer to that is just that I?m weak? ? from Chapter 19.

    I recommend this book for ? All ladies in their 30′s and 40′s as I believe , this is the stage where we ladies are challenged by many issues, unwantedly?

    This book is about ? friendship and how it help you deal with your issues

    This book is not about ? how to stop being shoes addict ..

    There are more abouth this book that i didn?t write here as I want you to read it and enjoys it. This is just a snippets of how the characters relate to me. In so many ways, I learn that

    1. We ladies need great friends.

    2. We must have p***ion? (such as addiction for shoes?)

    3. We must not be afraid to face life.. no matter how bad it can be, it will subside?.

    Thus, go on read for this is a happy ending indeed.
