Refreshing and biting
First Drop of Crimson was my first ever Jeaniene Frost book that will most definitely NOT be my last. It was like reading my first ever Dark Hunters book (Sherrylin Kenyon) - as if I was being reintroduced to the world of paranormal romance all over again.
I loved how our main heroine and hero, Denise and Spade, knew each other before we meet them in this book. Both of them have a history, not a happy one but it is there. It made the scenes and dialogue between them that much more real and even though they had met before they didn't really know each other which allowed me to learn about them along with the characters.
For a paranormal romance book this was very low on the cheese, I appreciate it greatly and recommend to all needing to read something fresh and biting.
First Drop of Crimson is a companion novel to the Night Huntress series meaning you don't have to read Cat's and Bones books first before reading this one. Of course if you have read the other books you would most likely have a greater clue into the little back stories thrown in throughout the book. Either way whether this is your first Frost book or not you'll enjoy it if you are a fan of action, witty characters, and delicious vampires. by Sandy
