  • We have a great new prize for you in our latest competition: you can win all seventy (yes, 70 -- see the full list here!) of the gorgeous, hardback Everyman editions of P.G. Wodehouse's matchless novels...

And how can you get your hands on this bumper set of witty brilliance? Well, I'd like you to email me at Editor AT bookdepository.co.uk with the subject line of "Ooh, a Wodehouse competition" (competition entries must be received by March 31st), including in your missive your full name and your physical address, with the answers to the following questions:

    • a) Where does Lord Emsworth live?
    • b) Who played Bertie Wooster in Granada Television's 1990s series of Jeeves and Wooster?
    • c) Which bank did Wodehouse work for between 1900 and 1902?

Good luck! (And please, please, please don't leave the answers to the competition questions as comments on the blog -- I'll just have to delete them!)

Is it just me (probably.......) but I always see (and hear) Ian Carmichael in my minds eye when reading Wooster, for that matter I always see Dennis Price too....!

Hmmm, wonder if they'll baulk at sending 70 hardcover books to Sydney? I will have to buy a dedicated bookcase just to house them all.

The best editions I've seen. I'd love to have the whole set - then all I'd need in life is all of Jonathan Cecil's recordings. Just have to add that Bertie and Jeeves are the best pair of characters in literary history. Ever.

Simply delightful! P.G's works are the kind of stuff that one must soak in. Like a balm, it soothes the joints and massages in all the right places. It exudes spirit and like a breath, it infuses life.

I never enter competitions (mostly because the prizes are absolute rubbish) but the chance to get my hands on a complete Wodehouse edition: I simply couldn't resist. The older you get, the greater your need for gentle satire and humour. Now I can retire!

Hilarious stuff. Personally I can't get past the Jeeves stories, because find it hard to imagine them being better. Along with the Flashman stories and Bron Waugh's stuff, Wodehouse is the cat's whiskers.

Have loved Wodehouse from my youth. About 2 years ago fortunate enough to get from an op shop (secondhand welfare/charity shop) set of 8 videos covering series 1-4 of the Grenada TV production which I thoroughly enjoyed. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm going to win!
