Amazing!
As part of a unit of study I was doing, I learnt I had to read this book. Interestingly enough, I learnt that the book was banned in China.
This book is a non-fiction memoir written a woman about the three generations of women in her family. This book reads like a work of fiction because it is so easily digestible, however its contents are at times very confronting.
It shows how different two cultures can be (Australian and the Chinese); the traditions, the politics, the socio-economic status and gender status.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about the Chinese, their policies, their gender opinions, their traditions, and their history. by Karla-kai stanleyunder review
