Full description for The Victoria & Albert Museum Pocket Diary 2012
The V&A Diary 2012 is published to coincide with a major exhibition at the V&A Museum, 'The Cult of Beauty: The Aesthetic Movement in Britain 1860-1900', which will run from April to July 2011. The Aesthetic Movement in Britain (1860-1900) was the well-spring of the 'new art' movements of the late 19th century with its rallying cry of 'art for art's sake'. Aesthetic sensibilities produced some of the most sophisticated and sensuously beautiful artworks of the Western tradition. The V&A Diary 2012 features images of artworks from the traditional high end of painting, to fashionable trends in architecture, interior design, furnishings and more by artists such as Whistler, Rossetti, Leighton and Burne-Jones plus designers such as William Morris, Christopher Dresser, Walter Crane and others. Illustrated in full colour with a week to a view. This flexi-bound diary also has a storage pocket.
