    justanotherteenagebookworm So the majority of you probably already know that I didn't particularly enjoy the first book in this series, Raised by Wolves. If you didn't already know that, you do now. I just thought the writing style was too simplistic and the "romance" too unrealistic.

    Nothing's changed. If anything, I disliked Trial by Fire even more. Because we're now past the introduction of characters, the story kind of fell flat. I know it usually goes in the opposite direction but I guess this book is proof that not every author is good enough to write a series. I don't want to sound too hateful towards Barnes because he has got potential. There were a few twists that I didn't expect, but over all these books were just kind of dull.

    There's action in Trial by Fire, sure, but to me it just wasn't engaging enough. The ending, however, I actually really enjoyed. I can't say anything without spoiling it, but the very last chapter was great - not in writing or anything, but what it was actually about. Even though I haven't been this series' biggest fan, I'll be buying the third book when it comes out for the sheer fact that I want to see what happens next. I might regret it, I might not. Who knows? I guess we'll just have to wait and see, right?

    Overall, Trial by Fire is a little worse than Raised by Wolves because of the flat story and lack of good characterization. by justanotherteenagebookworm

    What an amazing book!! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't put the book down until i finished!! I really hope there will be a third book, cant wait to read more about Bryn and her pack !! Amazing!! :) by Chloe Paton
