A terrific read about multiple murders
Arguably one of Agatha Christie's finest works, this is the story of a murder mystery that involves more than one murder; ten to be precise. The problem is that they are only ten people on the island and which one of them is the murderer?
Ten people find themselves invited to a reclusive island under mysterious circumstances. They are cutoff from the mainland because the only access on and off the island is via boat, that is not going to come till the storm clears and the storm has just begun. Over dinner, a recorded message plays and each person is told that they will meet their death because they are all guilty of murder themselves. They are being punished for their crime and they will meet their death according to the nursery rhyme which is the title of the book as well. As paranoia and hysteria escalate with each murder, the question remains as to which one of the victims is also the murderer or is it someone else on the island?
A truly terrifying read about crime and punishment, this is Agatha Christie at her finest. by Nadia Hussainunder review
