Sara Parker Gritty and fast paced. It leaves you wondering just who Gin is. I will definately be ordering the rest of the series. by Sara Parker

    Couldn't put it down5

Carol MacDonald This is the first book in what appears to be an outstanding series. Gin Blanco, (known as the Spider) is an elemental who can control the elements of ice and stone. She is an assassin par excellence. This is also one of the first books I've read (in what is usually termed, Women's Fiction) where you have a truly independent female who knows who she is, what she wants and goes after it. Gin is extremely cool-headed, logical and dispassionate. She has her own code of conduct which doesn't fit into the accepted norm. She believes in the old adage, â??do unto others what they would do unto you'. The love scenes are few but that doesn't matter. There is a bit of a romantic relationship in the book (that relationship takes a back seat) during which the male has difficulty with Gin's ruthlessness. She relishes her sexuality and is matter of fact when exercising it. He is a cop and is somewhat naïve in that he sees things in black and white and does not acknowledge the gray areas. They are definitely at odds in how they view the â??real world'. This is a book whose basic plot is a â??double-cross'. Someone has set Gin up. Gin is determined to find and punish the perpetrator of the double-cross. I recommend the book whole-heartedly and look forward to the next instalment due to be published on May 25th, 2010 titled, "Web of Lies". by Carol MacDonald
