Paperback edition couldn't be better!
I'm one of those old-school gals, so I bought the paperback set, and it's undoubtedly worth the money. Obviously, the content is 5-star worthy!
I am glad that I discovered these books after five had been written. I read through all five books in about 2 weeks. An amazingly detailed and vivid read. The George R R Martin can spend a lot of time describing the banners and backgrounds but it tends to add to the reader's ability to picture the scenes. There are a lot of characters and I cared what happened to them.
* This set contains each of the first four books in the Song of Ice and Fire Series (that's A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, and A Feast for Crows), with all-new cover artwork. Out of all the versions released, this is the most visually enrapturing artwork yet.
* The novels are brightly colored and contain designs that are brilliant in their simplicity.
* The outer box contains some high-quality shots from the upcoming HBO
series.
If you have not seen the HBO Tv Series, I highly recommend grabbing yourself a copy plus the books to know who's and what's what! I cannot wait for Season 2 to be released. =) by Ezzaunder review Excelente Saga

While I enjoyed the HBO series 'A Game of Thrones', it is nothing compared to the way my imagination sees the books. I find a connection with all the characters and love how George R R has written so much gray into everyone. It's so refreshing to have a fantasy world that is not black and white. This has to be my favourite fantasy series written so far and George R R is one of the best authors I've ever read. I'm so thankful he doesn't cut corners to churn them out at breakneck speed. They are all the better for it. by Dana Steel

My parents gave me this box set for my 19th birthday, and I have to say that it is one of the best book series I have read. The plot is intricate and fascinating and captures the feel of medieval times. A great series which I highly recommend. by Naila Rahman
under reviewFascinating Story
I am one of those people who got into this amazing story after watching the HBO series. I was very pleased to see that they respected much of the story, changing only a few aspects. However, there is something that the movies do not offer. The HBO series depicts something reminiscent of the Middle Ages. The story might have castles and dragons, but it is a far cry from a Crusade epic. Martin's Sci Fi fans will be pleased to hear that A Song of Ice and Fire reads more like a science fiction saga. It doesn't leave me with the feeling that everything is happening in a parallel Earth such as Tolkien's Middle Earth, but that the plot is unrolling on another planet, where dragons and the dead might just as well be roaming the world. by Iulia Vacaroiu
