If the title doesn't get you the content should.5

Mary Trinh This book is fantastic. There I was wandering the aisle looking for a good book on knitting/crocheting when this caught my eye. It was the last and only copy in the store, a bit rough at the edges the binding was a bit ho hum but the title caught my eye. A quite chortle at the title and I was hooked.

Incredibly easy to read, instructive yet humourous. It has the three basics on how to sew and modify a pattern, a skirt, shirt and pants. What anyone that has ever wanted to dabble into sewing but has no idea how to read a basic pattern.

Having wandered across my local Lincraft (Australia craft/material store) many a time, sadly fawning over the lookbooks from Simplicity, Vogue and just knowing that unless I was doing some sort of designers course or some of the (old) women also glancing through I'd never be able to make something from there. I wouldn't have a clue where to start.

This book explains it in basic basic terms your everyday uni student (of which I am one) can understand. It also has multiple fun projects to make including free patterns. It was also written by a designer that well from the sounds of things obviously knows what she's doing.

If you just want to make clothes but learn basic skills to perhaps move onto better clothes this is the IT book for you. Really. by Mary Trinh
