Moving modern tale
Found this book hard to put down, really wanted to know what was happening next. Well written. Simple and yet moving. Touching and poignant at times, seen through the child's eyes, but even that can't take the sting from the reality of the situation for the boy as it starts to unwind. by Hana Ellis

A mixed bag
A story told from the point of view of an 11-year old Ghanaian boy has its distinct rhythm and voice. That for me was the strongest point of the novel. However, the introduction of a pigeon sharing its divine thoughts with me the reader spoilt half the fun - was it done to justify the title? Asweh, pigeons should have no voice in modern fiction. by blazej aksamitek
