Reviews for Outlander
I look forward to continuing this series...
Hmm what can I say about Cross Stitch, or for others, The Outlander...
Even though it did take me a while to feel connected with the story and the characters, I love this book!
Diana Gabaldon has done a fantastic job at setting the scene in Scotland; I literally thought I was there among them, galloping on a horse beside them watching the story take place.
However, there were a few cringe-worthy moments, which at first I thought were unnecessary but then I realised that they just added to the context of the story; the way life was back in the 18th Century.
The story is written in Claire's point of view, a character that any female can relate to as you follow her journey back in time.
As for the best part, Jamie, what can you possibly say about him? He is a classic tortured hero, a man you instantly fall for in the first scene all the way to the end. The best part is, Jamie is not an unrealistic character, known to be just a brave handsome man who saves a damsel in distress; he has flaws (stubbornness) as well as a tortured past and on that matter a tortured future. He is not perfect, which is why when I was reading I felt for him and everything he has been through.
I could go on forever about Jamie, but I shall keep the rest for our imagination :) by Christina
