Werewolves, fey and the lot
On the Prowl is a collection of four short stories. The first three fall into the urban fantasy genre, the last into erotic paranormal. The first two written by Patricia Briggs and Eileen Wilks respectively are prequels to Cry Wolf and Night Season. They are well-written and intriguing stories with interesting characters that make you want to find more about them and follow them in their adventures. The third story by Karen Chance helps understand the events that lead to her book Midnight's Daughter. Although not a prequel per se this story features Claire Lachesis and is an adventurous and humourous tale that introduces readers to Karen Chance's world of wizards, vampires, fey and the lot. The last story written by Sunny is taken out from the Monère novels. Readers unfamiliar with this series might like to watch out for explicit content. On the whole an entertaining collection nicely suited for the summer holidays. by Georgia
