Reviews for Mechanics of Materials
Perfect for all Levels
Mechanics of Materials is the best book I have found on this subject through 5 years of university and 4 years of practice as a Mechanical Engineer. The structured and thorough process by which each topic is explained from first principles makes this book perfect for students. As a student I found many text books to have been authored by individuals who forget that many of their readers will be beginners and use difficult terminology and assume prior knowledge of a topic; Mechanics of Materials completely avoids this problem. The example problems and available solutions are always invaluable as working through a problem to a solution is by far the best way of solidifying knowledge.
This book also goes into enough details that practicing engineers will also find it extremely useful as a reference. by Cathal O'Neill
