Reviews for Leningrad
Unputdownable!!
This is a well-researched account of a period in history that is unknown to many people. Those who have heard of the Leningrad siege are often unaware of the terrific loss of life involved.
Anna Reid has written in a style that is easy for anyone to follow-not just those who are interested in military/war history.
I found it difficult to put this book down, as I got further involved with the various accounts from siege memoirists.I wanted to get to the end in the hope that I would find out if these people had all survived the war.
For fiction readers-this book has the facts behind "The Bronze Horseman" by Paullina Simons.
Well worth having in your book collection! by Chris Ker
