Reviews for The King's Speech
The King's Speech
I studied English History in School so I was keen to see the movie and I must say it is a great movie! I can understand the queen Mother being so angry that her husband George the Sixth had Greatness thrust upon him. Some to Greatness are born others have Greatness thrust upon them. I must say he made a better King than Edward the Eight. Poor Edward so weak from all accounts of his love for Mrs Simpson she was a domeneering
controlling woman and he too much the English Gentleman to fosake her for his people. Edward let his people down badly. The exile he was put into in the Bahamas was brought upon by himself and from that account of his life in the Bahamas he was not happy. We are told we must not believe all the media say but, no smoke with out FIRE there has to be some truth from all I have read.
Geofrey Rush and Colin Firth did the movie great justice and I have yet to read the book. I bet the book will go into more detail and I am looking forward to the book. by Joan Marshall
