Reviews for Kevin McCloud's Colour Now
Dingy!
If you're wondering if this book is for you, check out the eponymous Kevin McCloud colour range at Fired Earth. If, like me, you find them muted to the point of dull, then, like me, you won't find this book very inspiring. The book basically contains pictures of roomsets illustrating kevin's colour range with philosophical musings on colour under each photo. Some ideas - buy the rug first, then paint the Walls to match it - are quite practical, but most, such as his thoughts on the "tussle between purple green" seem pretty subjective to me. Useful & inspiring
Having recently moved house, and put off the inevitable redecorating for as long as possible , I was in need of some inspiration .
Kevin's book is not only incredibly simple to follow, but it is packed with some elementary tips that you could easily overlook in your eagerness to get the job done.
By combining the use of colour on walls with associated fixtures and furninshings, this book really helps you to get an overall feel for what your room will end up looking like.
In all, this is a really useful book for both the jobbing DIY'er as well as the serious interior designer , very much recommended. by Steve
