    Amy Mansell As the synopsis says, this book still centres around Kaye. The Seelie and Unseelie Courts are still fighting and now Kaye has been given a quest that is impossible to complete. But until she completes it she isn't allowed to see Roiben, the King of the Unseelie Court and her one love. So will she ever see him again? While wondering that she is also on another mission; to save those she loves and right some wrongs along the way.

    Ironside has a lot more of Corny - Kaye's lovable gay sidekick - in it than Tithe does. It shows how he tries to recover from his sister's death and the imprisonment he suffered at the hands of the faeries of the Unseelie Court as he struggles with his feelings of powerlessness. Corny's relationships Kaye and the other main characters are developed well.

    It is a very rare thing, in my opinion, for a sequel to live up to its predecessor; but Ironside does just that easily! Holly Black's amazing talent with the English language lives on in this amazing tale. One thing I admire her for is that when Kaye and Roiben's relationship had no chance, she didn't feel the need to add in another romantic interest for Kaye as others have done. For so many books lately a love triangle with the main character seems to be a necessity.

    This book closes the story up nicely without too many (if any) loose ends. It is beautifully done and I love the ending! I would still like more books written about this world though!

    Overall, I loved this book just as much as I loved Tithe. I rate it at 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to those who have read (and liked) Tithe and Valiant. by Amy Mansell
