Reviews for Introducing HTML 5

  • Useful for a web designer4

Melissa I am only halfway through this book, but so far it's been both useful and not boring to read. However, I am a designer - web and print - and so I am going to assume that this was written to appeal to people like me - who will wade into some code, write html, css and understand how to deploy scripts in web designs - but are not programmers and don't want to be.

I bought this for its large chapter on deploying html5 video. So far the basic html5 information has been quite helpful, though. Later in the book are chapters on using Canvas, cache manifest, drag and drop. But although it is a good overview of these things, it is far from exhaustive. I recommend it for web designers, not programmers - people who want to use these things now and learn how they work but will not be digging deeper into the internal structures or writing applications. by Melissa
