Cute with some good ideas
This is a cute little book with some good ideas. I would describe it as an ideas and inspiration book rather than a guide on journaling technique. It is a very small book (about 9cm x 11cm in size, and about 0.7cm thick) which shocked me when it arrived because I was expecting something more substantial. I guess in theory you could carry it around in your pocket but it's quite short and a quick read so it's not like a reference book you would refer back to more than once or twice. Some of the pages at the back are inclusions from his Moonlight Chronicles but unfortunately because the book is so small (and presumably the pages have been shrunk down to fit in) the handwritten text is difficult to read on these pages (in some spots I couldn't make it out; the dark paper the pages were printed on made it hard for me to read too). Other than that the author's style is pleasant and conversational and he really communicates his passion for journaling throughout the book. The sections on journaling (before the excerpts at the end) are written at a readable handwritten size and on pale paper so are easy to read. It could be a good book for young adults to get some inspiration and get away from the "complaint diary" that most teenagers keep. They might like the pocket-sized nature of it to. For me it was a bit small and not as much detail and information as I would have liked. by Jemma Pollari
