Karen Elizabeth Aitkenhead This book is fantastic and the recipes are very easy to follow and make. I especially like the acne gel and the viola and chamomile cream for eczema. Next I will be trying the lip balm. by Karen Elizabeth Aitkenhead

Mark Thwaite No, not those kinds of drugs! Poppies and Cannabis sativa do not feature here -- James Wong isn't out to get us high, but to help to get us healthy. Grow Your Own Drugs: Easy Recipes for Natural Remedies and Beauty Fixes is a wonderfullly informative book about how to go about growing and using natural cures.

Back in the day, our grans and grandads all knew which herb, flower, weed and tree could help us sleep better, cure a headache, ease menstrual pains etc. But, busy city-dwellers that most of us are, we seem to have forgotten that in the hedgerows, and at the end of the garden, lurk all sorts of plants that can help with all sorts of ailments.

As Wong stresses, he is an ethnobotanist not a doctor or a pharmacist. If you are ill, you need to see a professional. But nature might be able to give a helping hand too; and James Wong is here to tell us how! This is a great book that will show you how to build bath bombs, synthesize shampoos, construct creams, and fashion all sorts of other lotions and lozenges that can help with all manner of distressing conditions (acne, aches, anxiety -- and that is just the 'A's!)

    Highly recommended. by Mark Thwaite
