Reviews for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Yes, they are that good
I put off reading this for the longest time, determined to resist the hype. I'm glad I came to my senses. There are a few stumbling blocks, the pace takes a while to get going, as the scene is set and you may struggle with the unfamiliarity of the character's Swedish names. Persist. This is a great and entertaining read. You will end up desparate to start the next installment, but with reluctance knowing that the third book is truly the last. Lizbeth is a real gutsy heroine and Mikhael a really likeable character. There are lots of twists and plotlines, some quite graphic in detail. Stieg Larsson has also included some quite disturbing facts about the abuse of females in his homeland, something that doesn't immediately spring to mind when you think of the civilised country of Sweden. Just one thing though, do all Swedes drink as much coffee and eat as many sandwiches as this group of people, isn't there anything else on the menu?! by Esther Robinson
