    Karen Frost I have not been much of a reader for years and having just finished reading the Hunger Games trilogy this was recommended to me. I put off starting it as I wasn't sure I fancied reading about such violent crimes but I just couldn't put it down. It took me a bit to get into the first one as there were so many characters and I kept forgetting who fitted in where and had to keep backtracking but once I was into the story (good to have the Vanger Family Tree set out at the front of the book) I was enthralled.
    I wont say it is the easiest read I have ever had but it is by far the most interesting. I love that there are two consecutive stories happening at once.... one of which is continued through the other two books. I haven't seen the Hollywood movie yet but the Swedish ones are excellent - true to the books. by Karen Frost

  • A great trilogy5

    David and Kate Cook A crime story with a difference. Not the formulaic style that gets a bit boring with Lee Child or John Grisham. The girl, Lisbeth, is a unique heroine and keeps the story from becoming just another crime/thriller novel. It is slow to start and you do have to press on for the first 50 pages or so but then it gets going and is well worth sticking with it. A highly recommended read if you like crime novels. by David and Kate Cook
