  Shardlake is again drawn into the machinations of Henry V111.The King wants an invincible war weapon(now, where have we heard this before?)and people will do murder to attain it.Again, C.J.Sansom draws the reader into the 16th. century of England, with all the descriptions of life during those turbulant times.The ignorance of the period is disturbing, and Shardlake is mocked and scorned by many because of his hunched back, but his stout heart and understanding of the various protaganists he must face, makes for great page-turning reading! by Janice Margaret Warne
