a book of supreme beauty
I read this back in year 11 (when i was 17 years old) as a school study.
I fell in love. I am still in love.
Tim Winton has a way of describing the Australian way of life and the beauty of the land that I cannot express in words.
His writing is easy to read, yet very well crafted - which is not easy to do.
I have so much respect for this book. A true Australian classic- but would appeal to anyone.
The story of two families, a huge old house and a river.
Winton captures a time, a place and a feeling in such a way that a feel warm inside when I even think about it. Please read this book.
