An Illustrators Point of View On Claire De Lune
Claire de Lune is a really lovely teenage story of a girl coming of age with a twist which complicates her life. The book follows her transition into her destined form. First thing i would say is this is more of a teenage or YA adults book. I dont know weather its the language that is used or the story itself but thats the impression i got. Saying that i feel that adult readers will still enjoy this book. Its a little slow at points however for all its faults i felt like i wanted to read more by the end. The twist of the girl having to struggle with the transition of becoming a supernatural being is brilliant and different to other books where its the poor helpless girl who needs saving by the big strong werewolf or vampire. However that doesnt mean this book didnt have the same angst, struggles, cliff hangers and teenage love story. Above all i feel this book is about relationships, weather that be a mother and daughter, two bestfriends, the bond between a pack of female werewolves or a romantic boy, girl relationship. Overall it wasnt a book i couldnt put down but i was left wanting more by the end. Write some more Christine! by Emmi
