  As its name suggests this book is about medieval technologies and inventions.
  The most significant inventions of the middle ages were the waterwheel and the forge. These two technologies were the precursors to the Industrial Age. The waterwheel later gave rise to the steam engine and the forge led to improvements in steel manufacturing.
