    Nas Dean CAREER GIRL IN THE COUNTRY is the latest Harlequin Mills & Boon Presentation by author Fiona Lowe.

    My Review:
    Surgeon Poppy Stanfield fights every inch of the way to reach her career goal of applying for the position of Chief of Surgery in a Perth hospital. It's a male dominated field so she still receives gender based discrimination.

    Then she is sent to a rural hospital as a visiting surgeon before any decision can be made on her application. This stint was for only ninety days, after which she'll be back in her city job.


    Even before her first day at work, she butts head with the ER doctor, Matt Albright. Later on realizing he's her neighbor and she had to turn to him for help from her mice-infested house!

    Matt feels he's betraying his dead wife, when he feels attracted toward Poppy. For two years he's kept his heart in a cold storage since his much beloved wife and daughter perished in a tsunami.

    Then to combat the spark between them, Matt and Poppy decide on a sex-only affair. Will it be enough for Poppy? And now she received notification of being accepted for the Chief of Surgery job, will she be happy with a career only?

    CAREER GIRL IN THE CITY is an astounding story with great emotional and sexual tension. It has a fabulous plot, city girl in the Outback. But the sub-plot of how the hero moves pass his grief and embraces life and love again is very beautifully written. It is as much a story about past grieves and second chances as the attraction between Matt and Poppy. The author portrayed the vivid imagery of the Outback so realistically that you feel you are living there!
