  I can really understand why Home Economics was my favourite subject - this book is easy reading, the complicated stuff is explained in very simple language.
  The recipes require the minimum of ingredients, are easy to follow and the resulting dishes taste fabulous. I made Apple Crumble recently for my work colleagues, I kept getting asked what ingredients were used - they were all amazed there was only 4 (apples, sugar, butter and flour!). I believe we're all so used to so many herbs, spices and exotic ingredients we've forgotten what simple food tastes like!
  And there are lots of useful tips for young people on personal hygiene and housework.
  I could go on and on, I'l just say I highly recommend this book. by Mrs Doyle
