Singing primer.
This collection of fragments from Italian operas/songs of the 17th. and 18th. centuries, should be amongst the young, serious, singers' repertoire. Singing in the singers' language, Italian, which has no dipthongs, but pure vowels, gives the developing voice, beauty, focus, more even phrasing, and artistry.
They are deceptively difficult, and vocal flaws will be apparent ,but in time, with practice and development, and vocal maturity, they will become a cornerstone of the emerging classical singers' collection. I recently had the pleasure of hearing the entire book performed by a world class soprano...she had rearranged the order, and changed some of the keys, but the audience was held in thrall!! by Janice Margaret Warne
